“You counted wrong!” Punky says to Elena. “Square number 34 is missing!”
Elena frowns.
She does see that her 35 square is right above Punky’s 33 square.
Elena frowns some more.
“See,” Punky says. “You missed one. Now our game is wrong.”
“Let’s draw 34 right here,” Elena says as she tries to fix the problem.
She draws a new square, and puts 34 next to 33 and 35.
“Okay,” Punky agrees. “Let’s draw an arrow so we will know which square to jump to next.”
So Punky draws the arrow.
Then she draws over the arrow again and again. Soon Punky’s red arrow is a big fat blur.
“This way everyone will know to go here first,” she says while pointing. But this will make everyone see Elena’s mistake even more.
“That’s enough times,” Elena says. She doesn’t like what Punky is doing. Going over the arrow that many times.
Punky finally stops drawing the arrow.
