Hop Hopscotch

Punky in bedroom stands at the window.

Alone in her room, Punky wishes her across-the-street best friend Elena was home.  But Elena and her family are out.

Punky sighs,

"What am I going to do by myself all day?" she wonders.

Punky sits on her bed all mad.  If ONLY Elena was home to play with.

But Elena’s family isn’t home.  Their car isn’t in the driveway.

Then Punky hears a car go down the street.  She rushes to her window to see if it’s Elena and her family.

But it isn’t them.  So Punky goes back over to her bed and waits some more.

Each time a car goes down the street, Punky thinks, "Maybe it's Elena and her family!"

She runs back to the window to look.  And when it isn’t Elena, Punky runs back to her bed to say “Hi" to Mr. Bunny.

Punky runs back and forth a lot of times, and her shoes make a lot of noise as she runs back and forth.

After a while, Punky’s Mom yells up the stairs. “Punky, please stop all that noise right now!”
