Then Chimp walks over to the window to look out.
He jumps onto the counter to see even better. He knows he should NOT be on the counter.
The whole class is watching him now. They can’t believe that Chimp is up on the counter instead of sitting at his desk and working.
All at once, Chimp swings on the window blind cord. This causes the window blind to pull down.
Chimp’s swinging also knocks over some books. One of them falls out of the window to the grass below.
Chimp thinks this is so funny and laughs out loud at that.
Then Kicker, the girl horse, scolds him. “Oooh, Chimp, that’s BAD!” she says.
Kicker likes to tell the other children what to do.
“You are SO going to get in trouble,” Kicker warns him. “You shouldn’t be on the counter!”
“Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!” Chimp just laughs at her.
“Who cares?” Chimp says. “It’s just a silly team project.”
“Ha-ha-ha!” Chimp laughs at all this. He walks back to his desk and sits down.
When Miss Eddy returns to the classroom, she sees that the window blind is pulled down. She can tell that someone has been out of his or her chair.
