The Walk to School

In front of the school, Lucas, a tall and friendly boy lion, gets out of a red car. His father drives him to school every morning.

His friend Maddie, a quiet and shy girl mouse, walks up to him carrying some papers. She wants to show him her work -

“Hi, Lucas,” she says with a smile. “Look what I worked on last night.”

Maddie is a little shy at first, but Lucas is her friend.

Soon, she’s showing Lucas all the drawings she’s made of famous buildings. There’s the Leaning Tower of Pisa, China’s Temple of Heaven, the Seattle Space Needle and Big Ben Clock Tower in England.

“Cool,” Lucas says as he looks at her drawings. “Our class report is going to be great!”

Maddie smiles proudly and says, “Thanks Lucas.”

Maddie worked hard yesterday afternoon and last night. She’s proud of her drawings and happy with the work she’s done to make their class project amazing.
